Moved on a bit further today and got the bonnet fixed on whilst the rest of the graphics were being applied. 5mm spacers all round to bring the wheels a bit further out, which... even only at 5mm made a hell of a difference. Boot spoiler fitted, air induction kit fitted just need to get back on the old fleabay and get some silicone pipe and a few other bits so that work can start on the engine detailing. Front grille being modified, side skirts to fit and mirrors to carbon wrap then a quick check over and ready to trot to MOT station. Looking forward to having a fun season in this old gal.

So then time for the graphics i created for it....inspired by designs i had seen on a Toyota Supra and a Nissan 350Z .....Manga a very popular type of art to put on the japanese tokyo drift cars.
Still loads left to do.... carbon bonnet to fit, side skirts and possibly a rear valance to go on....not 100% sure on that score yet.....but we shall decide in the not to distant future......Tenzo R boot spolier drift wing to fit and were not too far off then......Engine bay after that!!.....induction kit strut brace, silicone hosing and the list goes on....watch this space for more updates on how the SX is coming along

Last weekend we got a bit of the old cold crappy weather yet again but thankfully the snow stayed away....but it was not too far away from us whilst we are North Yorkshire at Malton....my brother sent us photos of a few inches of the white stuff had dropped on Keighley.

However we did get a day last weekend to move project Drifter on a stage further...the vinyl arrived for the graphics and so they were cut by us and ready to fit by us here at boolies. We set on firstly starting to wrap the boot. 3m Dinoc carbon fibre effect vinyl to be precise. Now this i have never used before so was a bit of a wrap virgin....but i must say even as a beginner this material is fantastic to work with. Using a heat gun gently on the material whilst my partner in crime gently brushed it down with the neccessary tools...a soft vinyl applicator it went down a treat, however i must stress that the boot of a nissan 200sx is a nice even flat surface to start with so was not too much of a challenge.

Well could not have picked a better weekend for it really lots of big muddy wet puddles or mini lakes to ride into and through!...Great fun had by all. Was a few minor moments when we thought that things would go a bit pear shaped. Our friend Nicola as in Nic -Cola (male, italian stallion) took his recently new purchase of a Diahatsu sportrax out for its maiden filthy voyage. Rudland Rig of all places not for the faint hearted and particularly those who are first timers!!..At one point in time we all had the old bottoms twitching!!...she rolled down the Rig backwards and then body rolled.. teattering on a possible roll over NOT GOOD!..but after all of us holding our breath and watching it steady again....pheww and relax!....PANIC OVER!! :0}

Seems we may have another chap joining us next time another first timer so we might go easy on him....might not!!! lol

Just been up to the garage tonight to take the colour swatches up to the Nissan SX and match the paint on the side skirts and alloys to match the new decal design we have just agreed on, by 'we' i mean me and the ord man!!... Decals will be supplied by ourselves and also fitted by ourselves. Custom made to fit and in the colour that we want. We have the facilities to make bespoke decals for your specific requirements. So for todays plans...we take the Big Green Mean Machine on to the north York moors for a ride out with some family and friends.......Kermit has been massively modified to take the abuse on a daily basis as it is nicks work vehicle. As a self employed agricultural engineer it is used to reach farm machinery, forestry vehicles and remote water pumps in really rough terrain. BUT and the big but.... is this is also the family toy and is enjoyed on a weekend aswell. Living near some of the most beautiful moorland and having access onto some of the roughest green lanes, it is a highly entertaining hobbie to have. Picnic in the back, Kids in their wellies, have a laugh with others who enjoy the same, without being silly and making a mess of the landscape. Will post up some more action pics after we've been, but for now kitted with wellies and the rain pouring down outside its time to have some good filthy fun ;0)

Just what the hell would us mad petrol eds do without Ebay???...half the mods we intend to do to the nissan would not be happening thats what!. After thinking about the new trend of carbon fibre effect wrapping on car body work we did take it into consideration...but after measuring the bonnet of the 'SX' and suddenly realising that 1220mm roll width would not be wide enough to get a piece big enough to cover it, and the costs.... and time to do it all and the constant worry that it would start to lift and peel at some point and look rather.... well PANTS. So in the end good old ebay came into play and da da......full carbon fibre bonnet with a bulge vent... £370 smakers delivered.... I tankya!!...so job done ordered and arrived next day BONUS!! Also after a few days of searching...the fleabay, parts were starting to crop up from nowhere and before you know it the dining room at home is looking somewhat like a parcel hub!!

After buying the Nissan 200sx s14 from a friend who had owned it for 8 years and looked after it with regular services from a reputable nissan dealership....... however i say looked after, i dont think he must have ever washed the damn thing cause the paint work was looking like the scrag end of a brillo pad...but after 6 hand washes, a good bit of elbow grease and some quick tweaks here and there she was starting to look like the car it once was.

We have, over the years had numerous cars, and 4x4's....modified them.... some only slightly, others massively. This one has been the most recent though, the Subaru WRX Import. It was an L Reg 1994 with private plate of J8 WRX. We had always wanted a WRX Import but due to circumstances at the time never been able to afford to own one with insurance on imports especially, and running costs forever rising on them. This car was an absoloute dream for us from the very first day we drove it, we have had a sapphire cosworth in past but it just didnt even come close in our eyes to the Subaru. There is something to be said about the Jap cars. Each is entitled to their own opinion I know... and dont get me wrong i love the fords as much as anyone else... its a car after all!!!!....but in my opinion this was just something else. Modified to have 360BHP the power was just amazing. But after 2 and a half years of running round in it, modifying it as much as we dare without losing the reliability of it we were beginning to get itchy feet!! so we put her up for sale and it went to another home up in Scotland.....however there is another Jap on the horizon this in the form of the next Bigboolies show car project a 1995 M reg Nissan 200sx S14.
