Its Moving Day!!!.  So to ensure there is as little disruption to the working day as possible it has to be a weekend move.  So box trailer hitched to the Boolies van, we have packed, boxed and shifted the business and all it's equipment to the new place on Showfield Lane. Signage all made and ready to go up on the front of the unit, and thankfully the landlord had given it a full lick of paint too!... so a huge improvement all round. This is starting to become all very real worrying and exciting all at the same time and like a fresh start for us at Bigboolies but different from my little office in Birdsall I shall miss the place, but really looking forward to a new start and seeing where this business adventure will take us both.

Keys received on 1st September, and work is now well underway and with a lot of help from family and friends we plodded on with work to make the unit a clean, tidy and useful working environment. Both of us still doing our daily work at Birdsall, Nick as a self employed agricultural engineer and also working every other hour that god sent down at the unit doing all the necessary jobs that needing doing. What was in the beginning a very dark and dank grey breeze blocked walled unit, was slowly becoming a clean and pleasant office and T-Shirt workroom at the back, and a vehicle livery/workshop space at the front.    White insulated clad panels would give me the warmth and insulation I would need in the t-Shirt room and office, and also make a dark space a nice bright and airy room in which to work in. Grey painted floors made it even brighter and finally we were starting to look like a business ready for the kit to be brought in! about there!

With the now finished van and a huge amount of positive feedback through facebook from the online diary of its build,  it seemed we had created a van that stood out against the rest and was our new rolling advert for the business, a loud and proud, bright advert for our Tees, Embroidery, Vehicle Graphics and Custom Stickers service.😄 It started working too!...., more work started to flood in, T-Shirt work, stickers, cars, vans. Then one day, I will never forget this day as long as I live.....the opportunity to have a crack at a big job of doing livery on shall we say 'alot' of vehicles. This worried me and opened us up another issue! Where to do them???!  Working where we were at Birdsall Old Dairy, we had no problem if the weather was decent as we could sticker up vehicles outside but as we all well know, good old british weather cannot be relied upon! The Whole project of the Merc Van overhaul took us a suprisingly short space of time. Full pics can be seen here at the link below: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.160300947845&type=3 It was the kids summer holidays,  so they were away at Nana's on a mini break in picturesque Keighley, and also unbelieveable as it was, we got a decent enough break in the rainy summer weather of England, so it meant we could crack on and make a massive hole in the project.  We managed, from start to finish to get the exterior and the interior of the van done within the space of 1 week. Me sorting the interior and Nick sorting the exterior. Also this gave me the chance to come up with a nice bright in your face design for the van in order for it to stand out to the public. It also gave us a chance to create those extra little touches like the embroidered seat covers which I embroidered with what has now become the new Boolies Moto Art logo.

Things seem to be moving rather rapidly in 2012, business increasing,  new customers meaning more work....and it dawned on us that we had a little bit of an issue, the car and 4x4 shows we so badly wanted to get to as a show stand again seemed to just pass us by, the current personal toy a Nissan 200SX sat in the garage never seeing daylight. It just so happened that by being so busy with the work mid week, and needing family time on the weekends, it just never happened to get back to the show season and see the friends we had seen so often in the early days of Bigboolies. So after discussing what was the best way forward,  we decided to sell the Nissan which we had modified for the shows anyway,  I was struggling with my daily commute (a bmw mini one diesel of course modified) to fit all the T-Shirt boxes in so it seemed to make sense to get rid, so enter the Mercedes Vito project.
