My role at Big Boolies Ltd

Image
My name is Alice and I have been working at Big Boolies since September 2021. This was when I started my role as a Level 3 Junior Content Producer Apprentice. Today I will talk about my experience at Big Boolies, what I have learned, what I have created, and my hopes for the future. I would like to showcase what my role is and how I have impacted the company. As you may have seen in my last blog, we have recently had a rebrand at Big Boolies. The apprenticeship has definitely helped me through this process. I have learned about the importance of tone of voice and how it can make your business appear to customers. Our friendly and exciting tone of voice makes us approachable to new customers. The rebrand has also helped me realise our main brand values. We want to provide our customers with the best services possible to help them achieve their branding goals. A brand is more than just a logo, it shows what you represent and what you have to offer.  I have been learning about new trends

Why have we rebranded?

Image
With our 15 year anniversary of trading coming up in March 2023, we thought it was time for change. What better way to celebrate this than a rebrand? Bigboolies and Booler4x4 are growing fast so we want to build a recognisable brand identity to move forward with. Boolies has always been quirky and fun, but now as we grow and reach for bigger things, we want to reflect our growth as a company by having a more corporate logo and theme.... But don't let this fool you into thinking we are not the same husband, wife and bubbly team company we have been for so many years.  You will still get the same services from the same people you already know and trust! Our mission stays the same: we strive daily to provide you with products and services that benefit you and your business. Initially, we had two logos, one for Boolies Moto Art and the Bigboolies oval where our main colour theme was blue.   The new logo designed in house is based on the letter B as it features throughout both companies

Printwear & Promtion

Time last week for the directors to take a trip to one of the key shows in our line of work. Printwear and Promotion at the NEC Birmingham. This is usually an annual event but unfortunately it has been unable to take place for the last two years with the pandemic so it's been a real shame we've not been able to catch up on a one to one basis with our suppliers and contacts, see whats new and if technology is moving on in the industry - all because of the covid restrictions. Well this year 'The Unmissable Reunion' was well worth the trip. Not only did we get to order some more kit in a twin head #tajima #embroiderymachine to improve our own production times but we also got to see our brand new DTF machine actually working after ordering it all remotely and viewing it all online. Thankfully, pleased to come away in the knowledge we're still up there with the latest tech and we didn't see much more that we didn't already know about how t

The day we joined Tiktok

Image
So it happened!!!!, we have joined the tiktok world of video clips, and to be brutally honest it was only a matter of time wasn't it really!!. If you'd like to keep up to date and see the latest footage that comes from #teamboolies then follow us on tiktok handle Bigboolies.com  The team have all recently been spending a serious amount of time and effort welcoming the cameras into the workshops. Not the kind of TV cameras we've had in the Booler4x4 department this last week, more our own nikon camera, our iPhones and android camera phones. It's for us the only way to understand and see for yourself how things are done here, and that in effect can help you make choices as to if we are the company for you and would you want us to help you with your branding and business or personal image. We personally want to invite you behind the scenes, to view how things are done here, see the processess of how things are produced and what we have to offer in a very visual

Booler4x4 ramps it up a notch for 5th year anniversary

February 2017, the month that a simple conversation started with their accountant Neil Duell from Wasley Chapman & Co Whitby. Bigboolies by this time, with the introduction of extra staff was now becoming a well oiled machine and Nick found himself with more time on his hands and now experiencing a real chomp at the bit scenario to get back to his real love of spannering. For anyone that knows Nick and Gem personally they will know that vehicles and their love for them is really an obsession aswell as a hobbie. Gem couldn't stress enough to Nick how much doing something you love and are passionate about can change your whole perspective on working for a living. So after said conversation with their accountant Gem and Nick agreed that if they were going to do this they were going to do it and invest the same passion and dedication that had lead them to establishing Bigboolies. They planned a strict budget and gave themselves a challenge to find the worst basket case of a vehicle

2022 Update

Where has time gone?.... 2022 already?. ... shall we have a quick trip down memory lane just to put you in the know of whats gone on here the last few years??..... are you sitting comfortably? The Covid Story:   1st Lockdown: The arrival of Covid-19..... a real worry, the fear of the unknown, the normal route to keeping all staff safe and in a job, .....keeping our customers as equally safe was turning into a real challenge. Garment decoration sales plummeted to an all time low, and hit rock bottom, Booler4x4 thankfully had a full re-chassis refurbishment job to keep it and Nick Busy, Me?.... I found myself in a really difficult and unfamiliar place ..... I had to think FAST and hard to make sure we could do the best with our business to help others and succeed in making headway through a really uncertain time. So we pulled our PPE sales to the forefront, branched out into hygiene screens, for taxis, shops, schools, printed social distancing hi-viz, hard wearing keep your distance flo

New Adventures await, and New Website Launches

Today Friday the 14th January 2022 .....Brand New Website launch day. You can quickly look back at my rubbish attempts below at a blog 🙈.....when I was just a 30 something year old woman with a 40 something year old husband and two kids under 7, starting a business and taking the steps and walking a path that would lead us to this present day. The fact that I didn't fill in the blanks from October 2012 to this day clearly gives you some idea of how crazy its been over the last 13 years, to have your finger on the pulse of everything and get to where we all are as a family and business today. 13,  nearly 14 Years on from that day in march 2008, unsatisfied in my current job and had a brain wave to start a T-Shirt printing business, and the after effects of the whirl wind that followed and in which we have all sailed has brought us to this point. If you really want a good insight into the past then you need to go check out the Facebook or Instagram posts since 2008 this will put it
